About Us

Hi, I’m Emily Carter — and yes, my cat absolutely runs this household.

I’ve been a devoted pet owner for over nine years, currently outnumbered by two opinionated tabby cats (Mochi and Fig) and one very dramatic beagle named Biscuit who believes every meal is his last.

PurrliPaw started because I got tired of the internet.

Not all of it — just the part that kept serving me vague, copy-paste pet advice written by people who had clearly never, ever, tried to get a cat into a carrier at 7am. I’d spend an hour googling “why does my cat knock things off tables” only to find the same recycled paragraph on seventeen different websites. No real answers. No actual experience. Just words.

So I decided to write the blog I always wanted to find.

What you’ll get here:

Everything on PurrliPaw comes from real life — products I’ve actually bought with my own money, questions I’ve genuinely panicked about at 2am, and lessons learned the hard way (RIP, my favorite rug, 2023).

I’m not a veterinarian. I’ll always tell you when something needs a professional’s eye. But I am someone who has navigated puppy training in a small apartment, figured out why Fig was suddenly refusing his food (answer: he’s just like that), and researched more pet products than I’d like to admit.

My goal is simple: give you honest, practical, experience-backed guidance so you can spend less time searching and more time actually enjoying your pets.

A few things about me beyond the fur:

  • I believe the best indicator of a quality pet product is whether my animals will actually tolerate it
  • I have strong opinions about harness designs and am not sorry about it
  • Mochi has reviewed approximately 40% of this blog by walking across my keyboard
  • Biscuit’s current hobby is pretending he has never been fed in his entire life

Got a question, a topic you’d love me to cover, or just want to share a photo of your pet doing something ridiculous? I’m genuinely here for all of it. → [Contact me here]
